Location. The Lakes Court Hotel is a Victorian building located on historic Court Square in the centre of Carlisle, England, 200 metres from the shops of Carlisle Lanes, 400 metres from the cathedral, and 500 metres from the castle. The Scottish border is eight miles away. Carlisle Citadel Station is adjacent to the hotel.
Hotel Features. The Lakes Court Hotel has a Victorian facade and has traditional Victorian style decor throughout. There are complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and wireless Internet is available throughout. There is a porter service and complimentary parking on site.
The Lakes Restaurant is a traditional a la carte restaurant serving a variety of global dishes prepared using local and seasonal produce. Table d'hote and vegetarian menus are also available. Sinatra's Bar, a traditionally styled piano bar, offers an open fireplace, a bar menu, and bar snacks. A complimentary full English breakfast is available.
Guestrooms. The 70 guestrooms have traditional English decor and furnishings and include satellite television and direct dial phones. Bathrooms have hair dryers and complimentary toiletries.
Expert Tip. Tullie House is an award winning museum and gallery that tells of Carlisle's centrality to English Scottish history, from Hadrian's Wall and the Roman occupation, through Celtic life to the Civil War and the blood curdling legends of the Border Reivers.
